Is there a really peculiar Emilian poetical and cultural value strictly connected to the sharpest morphological and geological features of this area? That’s what is strongly claimed by this book: from Pascoli to Panzini, from Bacchelli to Bertolucci, from Crovi to Bassani, from Delfini to Zavattini, from Guerra to Tondelli, all the places portrayed in the Emilia Romagna literature of the Twentieth-century pass through the windy dunes of the Romagna coast to the misty atmospheres of the Po valley, from the silver barren badlands of the Apennines to the fantastic selva of the Bassa, up to the moody horizons of that “province non province” called “Via Emilia”.
