Nowadays we are so preoccupied with our frenetic city lifestyle that we tend to forget that not far away are small universes of harmony, sanctuaries of calm and beauty, where life carries on at a much slower pace. Armed with a camera, we visited all these masterpieces of balance (often in a literal sense, as some of them are perched on the top of a hill, or jut out precariously on the edge of a precipice). And we were surprised, as the reader will be, at the magical atmosphere of these places, where time seems to have come to a standstill.
